Construction Manager Job Description

Peregrine Team is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage various construction and renovation projects across the Central Coast of California.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Determine and manage resources (manpower, equipment, materials) within budget constraints.
  • Plan and coordinate all construction operations, scheduling intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
  • Recruit and manage subcontractors and vendors, delegating responsibilities as needed.
  • Monitor progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Submit monthly progress billings and ensure compliance with labor regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, phasing, and sequencing.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to health and safety standards and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager.
  • Deep understanding of construction procedures, material management, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Project).
  • Experience with construction/project management software such as Procore and BlueBeam is preferred.
  • Experience overseeing direct trade work including earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, and framing.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective team player with leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • PMP or similar certification is an advantage.
