Job Summary:
Under general supervision, and according to well-defined policies and procedures, the Medical Receptionist assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management. The incumbent interviews patients and/or their representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. The Medical Receptionist performs routine clerical, secretarial, and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry, and other record-keeping tasks related to patient registration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with the flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms.
- Performs preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician's time.
- Answers telephones, receives the public, and provides customer assistance.
- Processes data, enters information into computer systems, and maintains accurate records.
- Assists with patient registration, including obtaining necessary information and identification.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
