We are seeking a highly skilled Water System Operations Lead to join our team at Eagle Mountain City. As a key member of our Public Utilities department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our water distribution system, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable water to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Operations Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of water system operators, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- System Maintenance: Plan, organize, and direct maintenance activities to ensure the optimal performance of our water distribution system.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as water main breaks and leaks, to minimize disruptions to our customers.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain water quality parameters, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to water system operators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 8 years of experience in water distribution operations, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Considerable knowledge of water distribution systems, construction requirements, and regulatory standards. Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as backhoes and excavators, and to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Unrestricted certified Water Distribution Operator IV, Class A commercial driver's license, and certifications in confined space and forklift operation.
Employees in this position will work in an outdoor environment, subject to changing and seasonal weather extremes. The job requires frequent physical activity, including walking, standing, stooping, and lifting. Employees must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
