Job Title: Utilities Supervisor

MP Materials Corp. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Utilities Supervisor to join our team. As a key leader in the Utilities department, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our combined heat and power (CHP), water treatment plant (WTP), brine purification, crystallizer, and reagents operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain standardized practices across Utilities operations to ensure the safest and most efficient processing methods.
  • Collaborate with area engineers to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), facilitate training, and support daily plant activities.
  • Monitor process conditions in the field and remotely through SCADA and PLC systems to ensure optimal operating ranges.
  • Lead the training of team members in proper operating procedures and safety protocols, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Drive process improvements in alignment with company goals by actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in a power plant, water treatment plant, chemical plant, or refinery.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SCADA and PLC systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team in a dynamic industrial environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working closely with engineering teams, operators, and other stakeholders.
Working Conditions:

The Utilities Supervisor will work in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.

The employee is required to talk and hear, stand, use their hands and fingers, and manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C.
