Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, ensuring accurate and timely medical records, and maintaining confidentiality around patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Services:
- Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, including greeting and registering patients, coordinating scheduling, and answering incoming telephone lines.
- Resolve patient questions and concerns, including HMO referrals, billing, and queries about services and test results.
- Notify patient care areas when patients have arrived and are ready to be seen.
- Billing Services:
- Ensure accurate entry of billing information on patients and payers.
- Follow up on missing information and perform other related duties as required.
- Medical Record Services:
- Uphold standards of the practice and medical group for accurate and timely medical records.
- Release information from records according to corporate policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of related customer service experience.
- Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.
- CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
- Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system preferred.
- Ability to function in a high-volume, multiple-task environment.
- Exposure to ill patients.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
