Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, ensuring accurate and timely medical records, and maintaining confidentiality around patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Services:
    • Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, including greeting and registering patients, coordinating scheduling, and answering incoming telephone lines.
    • Resolve patient questions and concerns, including HMO referrals, billing, and queries about services and test results.
    • Notify patient care areas when patients have arrived and are ready to be seen.
  • Billing Services:
    • Ensure accurate entry of billing information on patients and payers.
    • Follow up on missing information and perform other related duties as required.
  • Medical Record Services:
    • Uphold standards of the practice and medical group for accurate and timely medical records.
    • Release information from records according to corporate policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of related customer service experience.
  • Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.
  • CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
  • Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to function in a high-volume, multiple-task environment.
  • Exposure to ill patients.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
