Alstom is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our APM Vehicle Train Design Engineering team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating mechanical and electro/mechanical products used on various APM platform vehicles and related Maintenance vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform 3D modeling, design annotations, and 2D deliverables in compliance with QCD commitments, Métier rules, and processes.
- Model and store allocated volumes and interfaces for sub-systems/components in Digital Mock-Up.
- Perform Detailed Design on internal sub-systems.
- Verify consistency of digital mock-up and compliance with requirements on assigned scope.
- Prepare and document Domain Design Reviews.
- Update Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
- Check CADs' and sub-contractor's Design Quality and completeness.
- Realize stack-up analysis and Bill of Material.
- Plan and pilot Electrical/Mechanical Domain activities of assigned zone and related deliverables on project.
- BS Degree in mechanical or structural engineering.
- Entry-level Engineer position with some experience in design of mechanical parts.
- Experience within transit industry is a plus.
- Proficient in use of CATIA V5.
- Knowledge of APM standards a plus.
