Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at BluePrint Automation in South Chesterfield, VA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design of system components, standard and custom machine design, and working closely with other mechanical engineers, controls, and software engineers to ensure the design meets performance, budget, and timeline requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the mechanical design of systems from concept through acceptance testing.
  • Responsible for master layout and all aspects of the mechanical design, working with and coordinating other mechanical engineers on the project, controls, and software engineers to ensure the design meets performance, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Works closely with the entire Mechanical Engineering department.
  • Cooperates closely with all other departments (Controls, Software, Purchasing, Fabrication, Applications, and Service).
  • Helps generate technical concepts, layouts, technical calculations, and cost calculations.
  • Makes customer site visits as necessary to help solve field issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related program and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment that involves robotic experience preferably in the packaging automation industry.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • A combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Demonstrated ability in machine design, preferred experience in the field of packaging/robotic machines required.
  • Applicants must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact and work as a team with other mechanical engineers required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering development process utilizing SolidWorks, ACAD, FEA, and related engineering software techniques required.
  • High awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs is a must.
  • The successful candidate will be a strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
