Job Summary

This entry-level assembly mechanic position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As an assembly mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a variety of assembly tasks, including operating manual or automatic assembly machines, checking parts for dimensional accuracy, and maintaining production logs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints
  • Operate manual or automatic assembly machines to assemble, bump, crimp, knurl, slot, insert, stamp, groove cut, etc. or resize or re-work parts to specifications
  • Operate support machines such as arbor, drill press, cutters, rollers, etc. as well as various hand tools such as pliers, wrenches
  • Check parts for dimensional accuracy using both touch and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers
  • Provide necessary counts and processes documentation accurately. Maintain production logs
Requirements
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds and frequent work near heavy machinery or equipment
  • Education: High school diploma/GED equivalent required
