Job Summary:

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a skilled Assembler/Tester A to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and testing routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies, ensuring activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation are used.
  • Organize data and prepare test reports.
  • Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate.
  • Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items, and handle according to established procedures.
  • Utilize hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, test boxes, or specialized test equipment as needed.
  • Proficiently interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
  • Prepare materials, including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
  • Perform cross-training when required.
  • Proactively identify and assist in process improvements.
  • May perform acceptance tests on repaired, modified, returned, or production units, conducting in-person testing as required.
  • Determine when and if an Engineering Change Order (ECO) is required, working with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering departments to implement assembly and test procedures.
  • May act as a department representative in customer audits/visits.
  • Use test equipment to perform in-process testing and final Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
  • Adhere to operational procedures and ensure tooling is in calibration before use.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including temporary reassignment to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years of testing one or more of the following: mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
