Assembler A Position

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a skilled Assembler A to join their team. As an Assembler A, you will be responsible for assembling routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of mild to complex products. This role requires attention to detail, ability to work from written and verbal instructions, and proficiency in utilizing hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and soldering iron.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate tasks.
- Identify best practices and implement them in the production process.
- Utilize hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, and dial indicators.
- Interpret blueprints, verbal, and/or written instructions to complete tasks accurately.
- Perform cross-training when required and adapt to changing production needs.
- Prepare materials for assembly, including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify defective items and handle them according to established procedures.
- Ensure tooling is in calibration before use and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including temporary reassignment to cover workload in other areas of production.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Two years' experience in assembly manufacturing.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Understanding of blueprints and proficiency in utilizing hand tools.
- Computer proficiency and attention to detail.
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years prior assembly experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) certification.
- Experience working in an FAA environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, walking, squatting.
- Pulling frequently, reaching frequently.
Lifting/Carrying:
Knees, Waist
Lifting requirements: 1-10 lbs. occasionally 11-25 lbs.
