Overview

Objective of the Senior Life Actuary Manager

The primary aim is to deliver expert actuarial knowledge and leadership in various actuarial functions, including valuation, pricing, and modeling. This role involves creating financial reporting documents, developing products, managing inforce operations, conducting cash flow testing, preparing proformas, and performing experience studies. Utilizing diverse resources such as actuarial models, software, spreadsheets, and available reports is essential. The position also emphasizes the integration of innovative methodologies into actuarial practices and encourages ongoing education as per the standards set by the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.



Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Senior Life Actuary Manager

1. Supervise and evaluate monthly and annual experience studies, providing recommendations for modeling assumptions related to mortality, persistency, and expenses.

2. Oversee the assessment of major pricing assumptions for all products, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market needs.

3. Guide the design and pricing of new insurance products, maintaining awareness of competitor offerings.

4. Develop recommendations for interest rates and other non-guaranteed elements for existing products.

5. Manage computer support for the Life Actuarial Department, including the design, programming, and execution of various software applications.

6. Stay informed about current procedures and practices in Life Actuarial science to ensure the successful execution of responsibilities.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science is essential.

- A minimum of five years of experience in life actuarial roles is required.

- Completion of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

- Proficiency in actuarial modeling software is required, with preference for experience in Prophet.

- Completion of the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation is preferred.

This position allows for remote work from a personal residence or in-person at the designated office.
