About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Lead Engineer to join our team at Alcatraz Cruises. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vessel Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the routine maintenance and repair of our vessels, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that all safety standards are met.
  • Engineering Operations: Coordinate and supervise the work of our engineering team, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of our vessels and equipment to ensure that they meet our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train our engineering team members, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with our operations team, including our captains, deckhands, and other engineers, to ensure that all aspects of our operations are running smoothly.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as marine engineering or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices, including vessel maintenance and repair, engineering operations, and quality control.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, as well as communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid certifications and licenses, such as a HAZWOPER certificate and a HAZMAT certificate.
