We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at the YMCA of the Triangle Area. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere in the pool area, ensuring the well-being of our members and participants.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the pool area and respond to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
- Perform equipment checks and ensure that all necessary equipment is available.
- Check the pool for hazardous conditions and take corrective action as needed.
- Perform chemical testing and take appropriate action.
- Attend all staff meetings and in-service training.
- Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Maintain regular, clear, and concise communication within the area of responsibility.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Certifications required for this position include CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.
- Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent certification.
- Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

- Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard.
- Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatics environment.
