We are seeking a highly motivated Waterfront Ambassador to join our team at the YMCA OF THE TRIANGLE AREA. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to our members and guests at the pool. This role requires a professional, genuine, and welcoming demeanor to relate well to diverse groups of people.
Key Responsibilities- Administer point of sale transactions and provide a welcoming experience to all YMCA members and guests at the pool.
- Work under the supervision of the Membership Engagement Director to ensure that all tasks are completed according to the YMCA's mission, goals, and policies.
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including using membership database software to complete sales orders and necessary transactions.
- Enforce pool and facility rules and policies consistently and fairly.
- Provide excellent customer service by building positive relationships with members and taking the initiative to serve their needs and concerns.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a customer service field is preferred.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be highly motivated, an effective problem solver, and have a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to stand for extended periods and walk, stand, kneel, stoop, and have manual dexterity. The work environment may involve working outdoors at the pool check-in desk, and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
