Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Beverage Director to join our team at The Green Room, a premier upscale dining establishment. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our beverage program, including spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Beverage Program Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive beverage program that complements our upscale dining experience, including curating a diverse and high-quality beverage selection, maintaining and updating the beverage menu regularly, and managing inventory to optimize profitability.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train and educate our staff on beverage knowledge, service techniques, and proper pouring and presentation, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development among the beverage team.
  • Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with beverage suppliers and distributors, negotiate favorable pricing and promotional deals, and stay updated on industry trends and new product releases.
  • Quality Control and Guest Satisfaction: Ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional beverage service and quality, monitor guest feedback and reviews, and collaborate with our culinary team to create harmonious food and beverage pairings.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements related to beverage service, implement and maintain standard operating procedures for responsible alcohol service, and ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of beverage products.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in managing beverage programs in upscale dining establishments.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, including current trends and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
  • Proficient in inventory management and cost control techniques.
  • Understanding of local regulations and compliance related to beverage service.
  • Passion for providing excellent guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years' related experience as an AGM, Beverage Manager, or similar role in an upscale, high-volume restaurant/bar/lounge environment.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include light work, prolonged walking and/or standing, and the occasional exertion of up to 30lbs. of force.
