Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Craft Recruiting. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with industry standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and analyze electrical plans, specifications, and diagrams to determine the best course of action for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit, cable, and duct banks, making terminations as required.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus, and fasten them in place.
  • Test and start up electrical systems to ensure continuity and compatibility.
  • Observe and analyze the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • May be required to pull wire through conduit, connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, and work with high and low voltage systems.
  • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
  • Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, and determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies and taking corrective action as needed.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in the field or a related area.
  • Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools.
  • Ability to work in a construction environment, exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions, and move about a construction site, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Ability to install 20' lengths of 4PVC schedule 40 conduit, install and detail conduit risers to final grade, install grounding rings and ground rods with compression type connections, and work at heights exceeding 200 feet.
  • Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction site, and work in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical.
