Client Overview: This organization has secured private funding to initiate two innovative programs aimed at supporting underprivileged families. The focus will be on a preschool program for ages 3-5 and an Early Head Start program for ages 0-3.

Position: Lead Teacher

Working Hours: Flexibility required between 7:30 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday.

Program Duration: Permanent / Direct Hire

Compensation: Annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $71,000, plus a qualifying sign-on bonus of $10,000 and an additional 2% bonus for bilingual candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field with at least 27 credits in Early Childhood Education.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in an early childhood group setting, working with either age group 0-3 years or 3-5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PEL Education Certificate / Educator License with ECE approved Endorsement / Special Education Endorsement.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (qualifies for a salary increase).

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will involve collaboration with the Education Coordinator, who will provide guidance and support in lesson planning and instructional practices. As the Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive lesson plans that align with research-based instructional methods. This includes:

  • Supervising and mentoring the Teacher Assistant.
  • Utilizing assessment data to plan and implement developmentally appropriate experiences.
  • Maintaining a classroom environment that adheres to state and local licensing regulations.
  • Documenting each child's health, skills, and developmental progress.
  • Facilitating curriculum planning sessions to establish clear learning objectives.
  • Identifying developmental concerns and following agency protocols.
  • Developing lesson plans that integrate health, nutrition, and parent involvement.
  • Managing daily responsibilities related to attendance and health checks.
  • Participating in family and child reviews.
  • Engaging in recruitment efforts to maintain program enrollment.
