Job Summary

National Power is seeking a highly skilled Generator Service Technician to join our team in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing generator sets and other electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on generators and parallel systems, including troubleshooting and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance services, such as oil and filter changes, and perform warranty work according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Repair diesel or gaseous engine components, including ignition systems, injection systems, and valve adjustments.
  • Perform load bank testing on generators to ensure they meet applicable code requirements.
  • Assist other technicians with large multi-person jobs or complex troubleshooting issues.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree in an electrical/mechanical related field preferred.
  • Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred.
  • US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician's Mate, or Generator and/or UPS field service technician preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide verbal/written reports of job status, repair recommendations, and equipment/supplies needed.
  • Ability to account for time spent on jobs and travel.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.

Work Environment

The Generator Service Technician will work from home and be required to travel to job sites, with occasional overnight stays in hotels. The company will cover hotel costs and provide a meal allowance according to company guidelines.
