Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients, visitors, physicians, and staff in a warm and professional manner.
  • Room patients, document vital signs, and chief complaints in patient charts.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and tests within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice.
  • Review patient charts, update information, and confirm appointments.
  • Order outside testing, obtain authorizations, and notify patients of scheduled appointments.
  • Process prescription refill requests, obtain physician approval, and fax orders.
  • Manage voice mail messages, respond to inquiries, and complete disability reports.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain OSHA logs, and restock patient rooms.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies as needed.
  • Check physician mail, notify patients of lab results, and make appointment confirmation calls.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program required.
  • One year of work-related experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Certified California Medical Assistant preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare field, medical terminology, and medical office protocols.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
