Medical Assistant Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Central California Faculty Medical Group, Inc. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients, visitors, physicians, and staff in a warm and professional manner.
- Room patients, document vital signs, and chief complaints in patient charts.
- Assist physicians with procedures and tests within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice.
- Review patient charts, update information, and ensure all pertinent details are up-to-date.
- Order outside testing, obtain authorizations, and notify patients of scheduled appointments.
- Process prescription refill requests, obtain physician approval, and fax or call in orders.
- Check voice mail messages, address inquiries, and complete tasks by the end of each day.
- Complete doctor's disability reports, place copies in patient charts, and maintain OSHA logs.
- Restock patient rooms with supplies, inventory, and order medical supplies as needed.
- Check assigned physicians' mail, notify physicians of lab results, meeting times, and other important information.
- Make appointment confirmation calls, send new patient packets, and provide backup support as instructed.
- Handle medical records requests and promote the purpose, values, and foundations of IHMG at all levels of the organization.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program required.
- One year of work-related experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Certified California Medical Assistant preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare field, medical terminology, and medical office protocols and procedures.
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to the particular specialty medical practice.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Skill in performing medical assistant tasks appropriately and within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice.
- Tact and diplomacy with interpersonal interactions.
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete designated tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience when dealing with patients and patient families.
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
- Considerable time spent walking and standing for up to four to six hours per day.
- Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics when making necessary patient transfers and assisting patients with walking, dressing, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings. Position is in a well-lighted, well-ventilated space.
Salary: $21.25-$24.45/hour
