Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Airport Wheelchair Support Specialist to join our team at Unifi. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wheelchair assistance to passengers, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.

Responsibilities
  • Wheelchair Assistance: Assist passengers with disabilities, including those requiring wheelchair assistance, through arrival and check-in processes.
  • Operational Support: Handle all aspects of wheelchair support, including operating a computerized system, boarding, baggage service, and resolving related complaints and problems.
  • Customs and Immigration Support: Direct passengers through Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine processes.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment such as the jetway, computer keyboards, and carrier-specific reservation/ticketing software.
  • Customer Service: Oversee all customer service issues related to wheelchair-bound customers.
Qualifications
  • Flexibility: Have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
  • Age and Authorization: Must be at least 18 years of age and have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Training and Certification: Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
