Job Title: Quality Inspector 2/3

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Inspector 2/3 to join our Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections on mechanical, electrical, or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with quality requirements for spacecraft components and associated systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.
  • Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional, etc.) on spacecraft components.
  • Use various measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machines.
  • Inspect and perform tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies.
  • Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools including Coordinate Measuring Machine.
  • Must be willing and able to transition to 2nd shift within 6-8 months from start.
  • US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results.
  • Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
  • Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 and other related specifications.
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
  • Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Salary Range:

$48,600 - $81,000

Salary Range 2: $57,800 - $96,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
