Pediatric Anesthesiologist Opportunity in Beautiful Portland, Maine

Spectrum Healthcare Partners is looking for a Pediatric Anesthesiologist (board certified/board eligible) to become part of our esteemed team at Maine Medical Center (MMC). We proudly operate the largest pediatric surgical program in Northern New England, administering over 3500 anesthetics annually. Our specialized pediatric surgical partners encompass pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, and cardiac surgery. The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital stands as Maine's premier pediatric referral center, featuring 116 beds, including 31 Level III NICU beds, 20 Level II Continuing Care Nursery beds, and 10 PICU beds. We deliver anesthesia services at our inpatient hospital, outpatient surgical facilities, and outpatient imaging centers.

Our pediatric anesthesia group excels in providing specialized anesthesiology care, which includes:

  • Management of patients undergoing intricate neurosurgical repairs
  • Neonatal surgical procedures
  • Airway reconstruction surgeries
  • Cath lab interventions
  • Standard pediatric anesthetic services
  • Opportunities for pediatric cardiac bypass cases for those with relevant training and interest.

The case distribution is approximately 35% pediatrics and 65% adults. Our staff members serve as clinical faculty at the Tufts University School of Medicine, playing a crucial role in the education of our expanding anesthesiology residency program. We are also actively involved in research and quality improvement initiatives central to the mission of our pediatric and anesthesia service lines.
