Spectrum Healthcare Partners is actively seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist to enhance our services at Maine Medical Center (MMC). As the leading pediatric surgical facility in Northern New England, we administer over 3,500 anesthetics annually. Our esteemed pediatric surgical collaborators include specialties such as pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, and cardiac surgery. The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital stands as Maine's foremost pediatric referral center, featuring 116 beds, which include 31 Level III NICU beds, 20 Level II Continuing Care Nursery beds, and 10 PICU beds. We provide anesthesia services across our inpatient hospital, outpatient surgical facilities, and imaging centers.
Our pediatric anesthesia team is dedicated to delivering exceptional anesthesiology care for:
- Complex neurosurgical interventions
- Neonatal surgical procedures
- Airway reconstruction surgeries
- Cath lab interventions
- Standard pediatric services
- Opportunities in pediatric cardiac bypass for those with specialized training.
The case distribution is approximately 35% pediatric and 65% adult. Our staff members serve as clinical faculty at the Tufts University School of Medicine, playing a crucial role in the education of our expanding anesthesiology residency program. We are also engaged in research and quality improvement initiatives that align with the mission of our pediatric and anesthesia services.
