Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CVOR Technologist specializing in cardiac procedures to join our dedicated team at Maine Medical Center - Portland. This role involves working closely with a variety of surgical cases and providing essential support during operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Specialty Focus: This position is centered around CST/ORT specialties, requiring expertise in cardiac cases.
  • On-Call Duties: The technologist will be expected to participate in on-call rotations, scheduled in 8-week increments, which may involve varying hours of availability.
  • Call Schedule: The average commitment includes approximately one overnight shift per week and 1-1.5 weekends, depending on staffing levels.
Unit Specifics

The ideal candidate should be proficient in handling a range of complex procedures, including:

  • CABG
  • All Valve Surgeries - AVR, MVR, TVR
  • Minimally Invasive MVRs
  • Ascending Aorta Replacements
  • Aortic Dissections
  • ECMO Management
  • Impella and IABP Usage
  • TAVRs
  • Laser Lead Extractions

While experience with pediatric cases is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Team Composition

The surgical team comprises a total of 9 surgeons, including 7 specializing in adult cases and 2 in pediatric care, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
