Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Human Resources Director to join our team at the American Heart Association. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR guidance and support to our leaders and employees in the Midwest region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and solutions that align with the Association's goals and objectives.
  • Lead HR programs and regional learning and development activities, including leadership development and virtual trainings.
  • Provide coaching and development support to employees and managers, including creating development plans and conducting check-in calls.
  • Advise employees and managers on HR programs and procedures, including onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, organizational development, and talent succession.
  • Utilize HR metrics, data, and reports to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in culture, leadership, processes, and practices.
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying barriers to performance, implementing and evaluating coaching/development strategies, and mentoring and counseling managers and employees.
  • Lead assigned region-wide HR projects and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, SPHR/PHR preferred.
  • Three (3) years of proven experience in HR, with at least two (2) years of experience providing employee and leadership coaching.
  • Training facilitation experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and influence individuals at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, maintaining compliance, and ensuring adherence to internal policies/procedures.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Ability to complete and manage a variety of tasks/projects, particularly when faced with competing demands and priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% local and overnight.
