Job Overview

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join its team. As a key member of the IT department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the hotel's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and other IT hardware and software, including cloud and virtual services.
  • Monitor system performance and address issues promptly to ensure optimal operation of IT services.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard IT systems and data.
  • Perform routine system backups, maintain data integrity and security, and implement disaster recovery solutions.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Support the management of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and security measures to protect against vulnerabilities.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Assist senior IT and operational staff on system upgrades, new technology implementations, and other IT projects.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot user accounts and permissions, with appropriate access controls.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage cloud-based infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, security services.
  • Administer Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, preferably in a small to mid-sized organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified are a plus.
  • Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and macOS, as well as mobile OS and networking concepts; Linux knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in managing cloud services (Azure) and their integration into enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with common IT tools and utilities for system monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of Office 365 environments.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is preferred.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work with a 24/7 on-call schedule.
