Job Summary

The Senior IT Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, providing technical support to our team, and ensuring the satisfaction of our end-users. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to our team via phone, email, and web portal.
  • Provision and setup new systems for our employees.
  • Prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes.
  • Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in resolving support requests.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate.
  • Install and configure hardware and software components throughout our network infrastructure devices.
  • Install antivirus software and ensure virus definitions are up to date.
  • Administer our server and network infrastructure, including Active Directory, File & Print services, DNS, DHCP, network firewalls, and switches.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
  • Establish good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Ensure company safety and security standards are met.

Requirements
  • Prior experience in a Managed Services Provider environment is preferred.
  • College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows and Mac OS.
  • Experience writing proposals for technical solutions to fulfill business needs.
  • Strong understanding of technology and business productivity systems.
  • Active Directory knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with UTM firewalls and cloud platforms is a plus.
  • CompTIA certifications are preferred.
