Consumer Collections Team Leader

A forward-thinking community bank is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee their Consumer Collections team.
This opportunity would be ideal for an individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for fostering a collaborative work environment.
The bank offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of approximately $120,000 per year, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the consumer loan collection/recovery functions, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Management of a team responsible for contacting borrowers for defaulted loans to secure payment or negotiate settlements.
- Approval authority for repayment plans or settlements, subject to review by senior management.
- Ensuring all employees adhere to OVBC policies and procedures.
- Maintaining compliance with regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
- Review and optimization of existing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaboration with internal departments and external parties to perform skip tracing or asset searches, or support legal proceedings.
- Production of daily performance reports, analysis of data, and implementation of adjustments as needed.
- Conducting departmental quality reviews, providing feedback to staff and leadership.
- Coaching and mentoring of staff members (Loan Collection/Recovery Representatives and Administrative Assistants).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 6-10 years' experience in team management, preferably in collections or underwriting.
- Proven track record of process improvement and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
