Position Overview:

As a pivotal figure in LGE Community Credit Union's financial landscape, the Chief Financial Officer will spearhead a dedicated team focused on achieving excellence across all financial operations. This role demands a visionary leader who is adept at making strategic decisions that enhance the value of LGE's financial resources while fostering innovative investment strategies that mitigate risks and uncertainties. The CFO will play a crucial role in influencing financial strategies and ensuring optimal performance of the Credit Union's balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as a vital member of the executive team to oversee the management of the organization’s deposit offerings and account services, including but not limited to: Investment Strategies, Savings and Checking Solutions, IRAs, and Cash Management.
  • Act as a strategic ally to drive sustainable growth through in-depth analysis, investment oversight, and informed decision-making based on risk evaluations and profitability assessments.
  • Directly manage the Credit Union's investment portfolio and liquidity positions to maximize financial health.
  • Lead initiatives in financial planning and analysis, optimizing financial performance, developing profitability models, and managing the monthly financial close process.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of the Credit Union's financial data and operations.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, supported by comprehensive financial forecasts and executive insights.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental functions to align pricing strategies with market trends and data-driven insights.
  • Mentor and develop team members to reach their full potential, identifying strengths and areas for growth to align with strategic goals.
  • Foster a culture of enthusiasm and innovation, encouraging team members to embrace challenges without fear of failure.
  • Guide team members through performance and goal-setting processes, promoting a culture of recognition and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement effective financial policies and procedures that comply with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, assessing their implications for the Credit Union.
  • Monitor succession planning and collaborate with HR to attract top-tier talent for the finance department.
  • Establish short and long-term objectives for the finance team, ensuring alignment with the Credit Union's strategic vision.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of compliance requirements and ensure adherence to federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of high-level finance experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with financial software such as Jack Henry Profit Star, Workday, and Bloomberg Terminal.
  • An MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred.
  • Possession of Series 66 or Series 7 License is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Proven ability to lead collaborative decision-making teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for engaging diverse audiences.
  • Ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
  • A growth-oriented mindset, with a focus on innovation and early adoption of industry trends.
