Key Responsibilities

  • Provide metallurgical and quality-related support to King Steel's operations and sales teams.
  • Oversee all laboratory activities and ensure material certification within the facility.
  • Supervise laboratory staff and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO and AIAG CQI-9 standards within the plant.
  • Collaborate with all personnel to meet customer specifications.
  • Monitor, design, and enhance plant processes continuously.
  • Conduct metallurgical research related to internal operations and finished goods.
  • Evaluate customer inquiries regarding manufacturing capabilities.
  • Engage in resolving customer complaints effectively.
  • Assist in managing suppliers of raw materials and external processing.
  • Contribute to plant 5S initiatives for operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Metallurgist, Metallurgical Engineer, Materials Engineer, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with metallurgical testing and related apparatus (e.g., tensile testing, hardness testing, metallography).
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with steel heat treatment processes and process design.
  • Understanding of steel manufacturing and associated procedures.
  • Experience in interpreting ASTM and other industry standards.
  • Knowledge of automotive APQP and PPAP methodologies.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
