Key Responsibilities
- Provide metallurgical and quality-related support to King Steel's operations and sales teams.
- Oversee all laboratory activities and material certification processes within the facility.
- Manage laboratory personnel effectively.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and AIAG CQI-9 standards within the plant.
- Collaborate with all staff to meet customer specifications.
- Monitor, design, and enhance plant processes continuously.
- Conduct metallurgical research related to internal processes and final products.
- Evaluate customer inquiries regarding manufacturing feasibility.
- Engage in resolving customer complaints.
- Assist in managing raw material and external processing suppliers.
- Contribute to plant 5S initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Metallurgist, Metallurgical Engineer, Materials Engineer, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with metallurgical testing and associated equipment (e.g., tensile testing, hardness testing, metallography).
- Self-motivated with a strong drive for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with steel heat treatment processes and process design.
- Understanding of steel manufacturing and related operations.
- Experience in interpreting ASTM and other industry standards.
- Knowledge of automotive APQP and PPAP processes.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
