Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to oversee exceptional, bespoke residential projects, collaborating closely with the site supervisor to guide the construction team. Our project managers are adept in both technical and design aspects, possessing the ability to grasp both the overarching vision and the minute details. The ideal candidate operates with integrity, professionalism, and diligence, prioritizing essential relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Construction Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring comprehensive and effective management of project timelines, budgets, resource distribution, and documentation throughout the entire construction process.
  • Maintaining prompt and efficient communication with the team, field personnel, clients, owner's representatives, design partners, and others.
  • Exhibiting a proactive, adaptable, and responsive approach when confronted with incomplete blueprints, design modifications, challenges, opportunities, and changes.
  • Engaging in project cost estimation.
  • Preparing pre-construction budget estimates and schedules in collaboration with the site supervisor.
  • Overseeing the project budget and all related components.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on project financials.
  • Conducting value engineering as necessary, including cost analysis and recommendations.
  • Developing project timelines with the site supervisor and reviewing them with the relevant internal team.
  • Co-managing the active project schedule and all associated elements with the site supervisor.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and managing subcontractors, including requests for proposals, bid management, contracts, scope of work, project completion, payments, evaluations, safety compliance, retainage, and project close-out.
  • Overseeing materials-related tasks, including submissions, change orders, take-offs, pricing, and orders.
  • Managing project documentation, including owner’s manuals, submission logs, job logs, safety documentation, project communication files, and permits.
  • Reviewing shop drawings for windows, cabinetry, and other construction elements as required.
  • Ensuring project closeout, including warranties, material lists, finish schedules, etc.
  • Conducting post-construction project occupancy evaluations.
  • Participating in company growth initiatives, community engagement, and achieving milestones aligned with company strategic goals.
  • Acting as a liaison to the Service Department as necessary.

Qualifications for Success

To thrive as a Senior Construction Manager at Dowbuilt, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-end residential construction.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related field, along with relevant experience.
  • The ability to travel regionally as needed.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Exceptional communication, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ingenuity grounded in technical and material knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project, BlueBeam, and/or Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with web-based applications such as Slack, Asana, SmartSheet, and Airtable is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Sage 300 CRE is preferred.
