Overview:
This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated electronic and electromechanical systems, along with site services and field process applications. The position requires functioning as an independent product authority on designated EVG product lines, executing intricate customer installation strategies for both reliability and process validation. Responsibilities include training customer staff on advanced equipment operation, maintenance protocols, and process-related tasks, as well as providing on-site technical assistance for the development and execution of equipment and process applications. Additionally, the role includes training other Field Service Engineers on specific product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional and courteous service to clients, aiming for complete customer satisfaction.
- Assist clients and team members in diagnosing and resolving equipment-related process issues.
- Conduct on-site preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment cleanliness and verifying operational quality.
- Manage start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities, ensuring timely hardware setup on specified systems.
- Keep management informed of any equipment downtime and report activities as necessary.
- Utilize training skills to troubleshoot tools, resolving issues to minimize downtime and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Be available for overtime and travel on short notice, including unscheduled call-outs.
- Diagnose and rectify process variations in systems, identifying sources of hardware or process issues.
- Recommend appropriate actions and maintain awareness of existing and potential situations, managing equipment and customer issues while keeping management updated.
- Organize and conduct local customer meetings, communicating effectively in various settings, including face-to-face and via email or phone.
- Prepare and submit all required documentation promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive logs and records for all assigned equipment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally overnight, as required, up to 75% of the time, and possess a valid passport.
- Operate EVG vehicles for business purposes, ensuring safe driving practices and holding a valid driver's license with acceptable driving privileges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Initiate purchase orders for parts and services.
- Maintain and repair company demo cleanroom equipment.
- Stay informed and trained on the latest company systems, methods, and procedures, including site safety protocols.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills in both domestic and international contexts.
- Practice good housekeeping in all work areas.
Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:
- An associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, or up to four years of experience in installing or repairing semiconductor/electronic production equipment.
- Advanced skills in electromechanical troubleshooting.
- Understanding of statistical process control.
- Familiarity with quality improvement process methods and terminology.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex process-related system issues.
- Strong communication skills and professional conduct with all levels of management, personnel, and clients.
- Proficient in advanced PC skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity is necessary.
- Must be able to wear appropriate cleanroom attire and work in a cleanroom environment up to 75% of the time.
