Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Alumni Engagement Events to join our team at William & Mary. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing event experiences that engage and cultivate alumni, friends, and donors in support of the university's engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive event plans from conception to execution, including event marketing and promotion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in University Marketing, University Advancement, and across campus to ensure alignment with university goals and objectives.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Work closely with volunteers and constituents to ensure successful event execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate event effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and event management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with event marketing and promotion, including social media and email marketing.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud or other CRM systems.
  • Experience leading on-site event management and resolving logistical issues.
