Business Development Manager

About the Role:

This is a hybrid opportunity that requires being in the office 1-2 days a week. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to expand the customer base, focusing on acquiring new customers and penetrating new markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Growth & Strategy: Develop and implement sales growth strategies to achieve the company's sales goals and profitability targets.
  • Customer Engagement: Regularly meet with existing and potential clients to foster relationships and explore new opportunities.
  • Quoting & Pricing: Oversee the quoting process and ensure accurate, competitive pricing while maximizing profit margins.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Work with senior management to create accurate sales forecasts and develop quotas, sales policies, and promotional strategies.
  • Market Analysis & Marketing: Conduct thorough market analysis to understand customer needs and determine volume potential.
  • Website Management: Maintain the company's website to reflect up-to-date marketing materials.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide timely feedback and performance reports to senior management.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor the sales team to ensure their performance aligns with company objectives.
  • Operational Coordination: Work closely with other departments to support sales growth and customer retention.
  • Budget & Expense Management: Monitor and control expenses to ensure they align with budget guidelines.
  • Adherence to Policies: Uphold all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Supervise all employees within the sales department, including the quoting engineering team.
  • Report directly to the President & CEO, who will assign goals related to sales growth, customer retention, on-time delivery, cost controls, and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and professionalism in all tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, capable of working collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing capacity, cost accounting, product markets, and sales practices.
  • Proficient in financial analysis techniques, standards, and data processing systems relevant to order processing and production scheduling.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Education, Experience, & Licenses:

  • 3+ years of sales/business development experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
