The Ladders, a premier financial institution dedicated to delivering exceptional financial solutions, is looking for a full-time Commercial Lender to join our dynamic team. The focus of this role will be on providing tailored lending solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Lender:
  • Conduct comprehensive interviews to gather essential financial information, assessing clients' financial services, objectives, and capabilities.
  • Evaluate and analyze creditworthiness of both existing and prospective loan clients, continuously reviewing the status of current loans.
  • Negotiate and establish terms for credit extension, including costs, repayment methods, schedules, and collateral requirements.
  • Manage a loan portfolio, ensuring timely processing of renewals.
  • Present and advocate for loan requests that exceed lending limits or deviate from established policies to the appropriate committees.
  • Oversee the initiation of loan processing paperwork and facilitate loan closings.
  • Monitor the performance of the loan portfolio, addressing any issues related to repayments and overdue accounts.
  • Engage in ongoing education regarding various loan types, regulatory updates, and financial products.
Qualifications for the Commercial Lender:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or training in the financial sector.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze business publications, trade journals, technical guidelines, and regulatory documents.
  • Strong writing skills for creating detailed reports, professional correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.
  • Capability to create and interpret statistical data and graphs, applying mathematical concepts effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a proven ability to cross-sell products.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • This role requires prolonged periods of sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching, and effective communication. Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
