Job Overview:
As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Regions, you will oversee the origination of residential mortgage loans through our branch network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the completion of mortgage applications for submission to processing and underwriting teams.
  • Assess loan requests, analyze financial data, and evaluate the qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
  • Maintain communication with loan customers, providing updates on loan progress and gathering necessary documentation.
  • Structure loans in compliance with acceptable lending practices and federal regulations.
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing/business plan, identifying potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, and developers.
  • Engage with customers through calls and in-person meetings to discuss various loan products and qualification criteria.
  • Conduct sales outreach to potential or existing customers as outlined in the marketing plan to foster new business or retain current clientele.
  • Cross-sell additional bank products and services.
  • Review surveys and appraisals, taking corrective action on any encroachments or violations.
  • Participate in networking opportunities through professional and community organizations to promote loan products.
This position requires tracking of work hours and is eligible for overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 per week, in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Compensation: This role operates on a commission-based compensation structure.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in mortgage lending with a proven track record of production.
  • Extensive experience in developing external business through referral partnerships, including realtors, builders, and financial planners.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage products, systems, terminology, tax requirements, and down payment assistance programs.
  • Familiarity with agency and investor regulations and guidelines.
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining relationships to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sales proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position Type: Full-time

Incentive Pay Plans: This position is eligible for a commission incentive plan, allowing employees to earn commissions based on performance metrics and goals.
