Clinical Nurse Informaticist

The Clinical Nurse Informaticist is a key member of the Department of Health Informatics at UCSF Health, responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of assigned EHR and other IT projects. This role requires advanced knowledge and skills in clinical relevancy, informatics, evidence-based practice, consultation, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical informatics solutions to improve patient care and outcomes
- Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to design and implement EHR and other IT projects
- Conduct evidence-based research and analysis to inform clinical decision-making
- Provide education and training to nursing staff on clinical informatics and EHR systems
- Develop and maintain clinical workflows and policies to support digital solutions in patient engagement and clinical care delivery
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing informatics, information systems, or clinical experience in the specialty area
- In-depth knowledge of one or more clinical specialty areas, including diagnoses, treatments, standards of practice, and patient/family educational consulting and resources
- Advanced knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess highly complex issues and develop multiple options for resolution
- Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide education, training, and direction to nursing staff, and to develop positive working relationships with patients, families, employees, and outside agencies as required
