Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Ambulatory Chief of Cardiology, the Clinical Nurse 2 is responsible for providing safe, efficient nursing care to patients in the Interventional Coronary Cardiology Clinic.

The Clinical Nurse 2 utilizes the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation) to provide safe and therapeutic clinical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients and respond appropriately according to protocol and nursing assessment.
  • Provide clinical support to Providers and participate as part of the health care team to assure complex coordination and continuity of patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of educational programs and materials for patients and their family members.
  • Optimize clinic flow, provide in and outreach to patients, and work collaboratively with the team to create a patient-centered environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) months recent RN experience in an Ambulatory Cardiology Clinic, including telephone triage and in-basket messaging with patients undergoing cardiology procedures and chronic management of Cardiology care.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in nursing care of patients with Interventional Cardiology and/or Cardiac Surgery.
