The Service Training Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the development of proactive partnerships with dealers to create enhanced buying and service experiences for customers. This position will be responsible for conducting technical and service training to meet Skill Level Guidelines as established by Toyota Motor North America (TMNA).
Key Responsibilities- Conduct technical and service training to meet Skill Level Guidelines as established by Toyota Motor North America (TMNA).
- Regularly review, update and implement changes to technical training materials to ensure accuracy, relevancy and current field applicability while communicating results to TMNA development teams.
- Master the use of Toyota Information System (TIS) and demand its use in all aspects of Technical Training.
- Encourage, promote, and participate in Toyota service initiatives that grow desire service and buying experience for Toyota customers.
- Foster relationships with Gulf States Toyota's dealers.
- Enhance and maintain cross-functional communication and coordination with Field Technical Specialist (FTS) in the Gulf States Toyota region.
- Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
- Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
- Coordinate within the Technical Training team and conduct consistent content delivery across the GST training centers.
- Utilize alternative delivery methods and competency validations when necessary.
- Assist in developing technician and dealer training plans that will allow Gulf States Toyota dealers to meet Skill Level Guidelines as established by Toyota Motor North America (TMNA).
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) course development teams.
- Support accurate training record keeping by providing accurate and timely training reports internally and to Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) as requested.
- Encourage and support Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification and Toyota Certified Technician Program participation by all dealers and service technicians.
- Maintain facilities, training aids, tools, vehicles and other associated items at all of GST technical training centers.
- Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrate a consistent collaborative behavior that supports our company values.
- Must be customer and dealer focused; assist dealers to exceed customer expectations.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of automotive control systems and industry applicable service and repair techniques.
- Demonstrate technical training and development skills.
- Demonstrate mentoring and coaching skills.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including interactive online meeting and teaching tools, navigation, general operation and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and other online visual and interactive programs.
- Demonstrate analytical, action planning and coordination skills.
- Able to promote, coordinate, and support change.
- Able to communicate effectively – orally and in writing.
- Understand Gulf States Toyota financial and productivity measures.
