**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and qualified candidate to lead our police department as Chief of Police for the City of Tuskegee. The successful candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure the effective delivery of law enforcement services.

  • **Supervise Police Personnel:** Ensure the department is staffed and equipped to meet community needs by supervising police personnel and making strategic decisions.
  • **Develop and Implement Departmental Plans:** Develop and implement departmental plans, budgets, and programs to address operational deficiencies and improve services.
  • **Investigate Citizen Complaints:** Investigate citizen complaints and make recommendations on performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and employee personnel matters.
  • **Represent the Department:** Represent the department at meetings and conferences, and communicate with community groups on the role of the Police Department.

**Requirements and Qualifications:** A Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, police science, public administration, or a related field is desired. Alternatively, a combination of senior-level management experience with law enforcement certifications is acceptable. A Master's degree is preferred but not required.

**Certifications and Licenses:** Must be APOSTC certified and current on required CEUs for employment and promotional opportunities.

**Compensation and Benefits:** The salary for this position is $75,000 per year.
