The University of Southern California is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technician to join its team. As a key member of the Office of Cultural Relations and University Events, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining event technology for live and broadcast events, with a focus on video production.
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Audio-Visual Services, you will work closely with the Technical Supervisor and CRUE Event Producers to execute a variety of university events, including presidential, developmental, and student-level events.
Key responsibilities include configuring, maintaining, and operating live audio-visual installations, rehearsals, events, and strikes for on and off-campus events, as well as configuring, maintaining, and operating virtual event signal flows that support web streams, webinars, meetings, and other online programming.
You will also be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and operating video production equipment for live and broadcast transmission, including PTZ camera configuration and operation, digital routing switchers and control systems, timecode and various sync types, peripheral broadcast equipment, and audio/data dis/embedders.
Additionally, you will assist with the coordination of equipment rentals and schedules with AV vendors, conduct annual inventory and maintenance, including firmware updates of CRUE AV equipment, and assist in training CRUE students to support their role in setting up, operating, and maintaining all CRUE A/V equipment.
Requirements include proficiency in professional live production systems, experience in video switching live, broadcast, streaming, recording, and postproduction workflows, and experience with shading and color correction of video signals and displays.
Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are also essential.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in film or television production or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in technical direction and postproduction editing.
