The nursing professionals at Health eCareers are committed to an integrated care model that prioritizes patients and their families. The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) I is responsible for delivering professional nursing care as outlined by the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act and the organization's established protocols. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing services to patients, members, and families aimed at promoting health, restoring wellness, and preventing illness and injury. The RN collaborates closely with the Health Care Team (HCT) and leadership to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Employs the nursing process to evaluate patient health conditions, identify nursing diagnoses, set nursing objectives, and formulate, execute, and assess the nursing care plan.
- Completes patient encounters and addresses care discrepancies as necessary.
- Maintains accurate documentation of patient information, actions taken, interventions performed, and responses to treatments in accordance with established policies.
- Assists in medical procedures and observes patient reactions during and post-procedure.
- Actively engages as a member of the healthcare team to involve patients, families, and caregivers in the care coordination process.
- Leads nursing interventions during medical emergencies when required.
- Monitors electronic communications related to patient or provider inquiries and manages or escalates them appropriately.
- Initiates and oversees IV therapy, medication administration, and other nursing procedures as directed by the physician or associate practitioner, ensuring proper documentation.
- Evaluates patient and family educational needs, provides health education and counseling, and assesses the effectiveness of the educational efforts.
- Conducts follow-up calls to patients needing additional care and preventive outreach.
- Participates in quality enhancement initiatives and activities.
- Contributes to the orientation and training of new nursing staff.
- May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- At least one (1) year of clinical RN experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associate's degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
- N/A
- At least three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Experience in Ob/Gyn preferred.
