This role involves providing care to patients, members, and families to enhance health, prevent illness, and manage injuries. Collaboration with the Health Care Team (HCT) and leadership is essential to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Employs the nursing process to evaluate patient health, formulate nursing diagnoses, set care objectives, and develop, implement, and assess the nursing care plan.
- Completes the Plan of Care and addresses any care gaps during patient interactions.
- Documents patient information, actions, interventions, and treatment responses in accordance with established protocols.
- Assists in medical procedures and monitors patient responses throughout the process.
- Actively engages with patients, families, and caregivers as part of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Leads nursing responses during medical emergencies when necessary.
- Monitors electronic communications related to patient or provider inquiries and manages or triages them appropriately.
- Initiates and oversees IV therapy, medication administration, and other nursing tasks as directed by physicians or associate practitioners, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Evaluates patient and family educational needs, provides health education and counseling, and assesses the effectiveness of the educational efforts.
- Conducts follow-up calls to patients for ongoing care and preventive outreach.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and activities.
- Contributes to the orientation and training of new staff members.
- May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- At least one (1) year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associate's degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
- N/A
- A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Experience in Ob/Gyn preferred.
