This role is essential in delivering nursing care aimed at promoting health, restoring well-being, and preventing illness and injury. Collaboration with the Health Care Team (HCT) and leadership is crucial to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Employs the nursing process to evaluate patient health status, formulate nursing diagnoses, set nursing objectives, and create, implement, and assess the nursing care plan.
- Completes the Plan of Care and addresses any care gaps identified during patient interactions.
- Meticulously documents patient information, actions taken, interventions, and responses to treatment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assists in medical procedures and observes patient responses during and post-procedure.
- Actively engages as a member of the healthcare team to involve patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of care.
- Leads nursing responses during medical emergencies when necessary.
- Monitors electronic communications and manages patient or provider requests, triaging as needed.
- Initiates and oversees IV therapy, medication administration, and other nursing tasks as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Evaluates patient and family educational needs, providing health education and counseling, and assessing the effectiveness of the educational efforts.
- Conducts follow-up calls to patients requiring additional care and preventive outreach.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and activities.
- Contributes to the orientation and training of new staff members.
- May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- At least one (1) year of clinical RN experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associate's degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
- N/A
- At least three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Experience in Ob/Gyn preferred.
