HSE Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Specialist to join our team at National Oilwell Varco. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating, implementing, and maintaining policies, programs, and techniques necessary to achieve company goals and regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and conduct training programs to promote a safe and healthy working environment.
- Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure employees receive training and development in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and trends.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and bodies to stay up-to-date on new developments in HSE.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in occupational health, safety, and environmental affairs.
- 3 years' experience in HSE or a related field.
- Working knowledge of management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Previous working experience/knowledge with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ.
- Ability to prioritize work projects and multitask when required.
- Ability to utilize experience, skills, and training to make appropriate actions and decisions relating to on-site HSE occurrences.
