Job Description

Rate of Pay: $16.85/hour

The Amaya Server Assistant position is a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a highly motivated and energetic individual, you will assist the server's needs, ensuring seamless service and a flawless dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Display a congenial appearance and maintain a well-groomed appearance at all times.
  • Assist with server needs, including expediting completed dishes to the service area and serving tables as needed.
  • Ensure all setups are ready for service according to standards.
  • Assist with pre-shift duties, including polishing serving trays, setting up the pass area for dinner service, and other tasks as outlined in the pre-shift duties list.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and Front of House staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar restaurant environment is preferred.
  • Food Handlers Card is required.
  • High School graduate.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
  • Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities.
  • Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.

Physical Demands:

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors with moderate temperatures.
  • Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to multi-task in a calm manner on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill daily tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Grooming:

All Colleagues must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards. A conservative, simple, and elegant style is preferred.
