Amaya Host

Join our team as an Amaya Host at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, where you will be the first point of contact for our guests. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.

The Amaya Host will be responsible for greeting and assisting guests in a positive, polite, and professional manner. This includes maintaining a proactive approach to solving any guest's questions or problems, anticipating their needs, and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency.

• Guest Greeting and Assistance: Greet and assist guests in a positive, polite, and professional manner.
• Reservation Management: Communicate all reservations and guest comments to management and servers.
• Seating Coordination: Coordinate the seating of guests and manage reservations.
• Phone Calls: Answer all phone calls received at the hostess stand.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of hostess stand and entryway.
• Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of all Reservation and Hostess equipment, software, and supplies.
• Guest Communication: Communicate guest profile and expectations to servers and management.
• Clerical Tasks: Perform general clerical tasks, including utilization of Open Table.

• Food Handlers Card: Required.
• Education: High School graduate.
• Language Skills: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Communication Skills: Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Math Skills: Must possess basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.
• Computer Skills: Must possess basic computer skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
• Restaurant Operations: Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities.
• Guest Service: Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.

• Work Environment: Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by Restaurant environmental systems.
• Physical Activity: Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.
• Visual and Hearing Ability: Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

• Appearance: All Colleagues must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Fairmont Grand Del Mar. A conservative, simple, and elegant style is preferred.
