Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at Hibbett Retail, Inc. As a key member of our Store Operations department, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our internal communication strategy to inform store associates with consistent and engaging content across digital, print, and live communication channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop, edit, and publish communications on a daily basis.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of quarterly meetings, reporting on key metrics, identifying trends, and providing solutions.
  • Manage Communications Projects
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders to manage communications projects, handle budgets, and track metrics.
    • Identify trends and provide solutions to improve communication effectiveness.
  • Content Creation and Editing
    • Produce high-quality, engaging content for print and digital channels for routine publication.
    • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy and consistency with the company's brand voice and messaging guidelines.
  • Internal Communication Channels
    • Coordinate calendars and communication plans to align departments.
    • Maintain intranet site for store associates, including creating, editing, and updating web content, graphic updates, and internal/external resources.
  • Communication Strategy Development
    • Work with the corporate communications team to develop annual and as-needed communications strategies and plans in support of division priorities.
    • Drive communications program implementation, effectively managing resources, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Event Planning and Execution
    • Plan and execute communications events, including lunch-and-learns, managers meetings, and other special events.
    • Design and implement effective internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and alignment with the organization's goals.
  • Analysis and Reporting
    • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, using data to make informed decisions and improvements.
  • Collaboration and Support
    • Provide guidance and support to Store Support Center and operations team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
    • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience
    • 2 - 4 years of related experience.
    • Experience in a senior or leadership role is preferred.
  • Skills
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Strong understanding of communication channels and strategies.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
